ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes
Grants for Homeowners - Up to $5000 available now!
The ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program was developed by Natural Resources Canada and is part of Canada's climate change solution to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions we produce and to help improve our environment.
Identify cost-effective retrofits, lower your energy use, save on energy bills, and gain access to current energy efficiency grant programs.
City Green is the only non-profit organization in BC offering the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program, visit their website at www.citygreen.ca or call 1-866-381-9995 for more information or to book a visit with your local Certified Energy Advisor. The program process is outlined below:
Step One
Book a baseline home energy assessment with City Green at a cost of $250 plus GST/mileage and receive a:
- personalized consultation with an energy efficiency expert
- blower door fan test to quantify and identify air leakage
- software analysis of your home's heated air space
- customized retrofit plan for your home
- calculation of your home's baseline EnerGuide rating, a number on a scale of 0 - 100 that describes how your home rates for energy efficiency. An EnerGuide label is provided.
Step Two
Complete your choice of renovations in the next 18 months.
Step Three
Book a follow up home energy assessment with City Green at a cost of $150 plus GST/mileage and receive a:
- blower door fan test to confirm air sealing
- second software anaylsis of your home's heated air space
- second EnerGuide label that shows your home's increased energy efficiency from your renovations
- access to the ecoENERGY grants - City Green will apply for the grant on your behalf and a check will be sent to you from Natural Resources Canada within 90 days of this visit
